What was your brief to Alison?
Initially to see me through the transition from employment to self-employment, and then to help me establish my business.
What outcomes were you hoping for?
Concrete outcomes: a successful business, well set-up and well run with all the necessary things in place – e.g. VAT, tax, personal liability insurance, and so on. Personal outcomes: to have the confidence to stay with it and succeed.
How did you benefit from your time with Alison?
Alison was invaluable as she was able to guide me through the process of becoming self-employed both from a practical and personal point of view. I also had a serious personal crisis during the period of coaching, and Alison was able to help me on that front, as well as keeping me on track with the business.
What special qualities do you think Alison brings to her work?
Humanity, fun, intellect, analytical thinking, firmness, and the ability to set a light but serious and business-like tone. She is also very skilled at boundary drawing – making observations about the appropriateness of a given action.
