What was your brief to Alison?
I have used Alison both on a personal level for executive coaching and for coaching colleagues at a senior management level. She has also been involved in a development initiative in our Commercial Division to support managers' entrepreneurial spirit and to increase revenue from the commercial business. The coaching work she has undertaken has ranged from personal managerial development to support in achieving business objectives.
What outcomes were you hoping for?
To increase choice and develop the personal resources available in being an effective senior manager.
What special qualities do you think Alison brings to her work?
She is honest, has high levels of integrity, is professional, challenging and direct. Alison is one of the few coaches I have encountered who isn’t afraid to voice her opinion and offer suggestions or solutions for discussion. She understands issues and gets to the root cause quickly. You can cover a lot of ground in one session with Alison and it will leave you thinking for some time afterwards!
I enjoy working with her direct yet supportive style and cannot recommend her highly enough. Everyone I have recommended Alison to, and who has worked with Alison at BMG, has been impressed by her style and the results they have achieved. She is refreshing in that she doesn't fit the Record Company stereotype, but is able to relate to all manner of situations and draw on her own experience to build rapport.
I remember the first coaching session I had with Alison. She made an observation about a particular behaviour I had, I thought about it from a different angle and it blew me away! She has a talent for turning something on its head, which helps you remove any blinkers or preconceived ideas you have.
