Our exciting Creative Touch Workshop

Creative Touch - How to facilitate group dynamics using creativity

This long title describes the workshop that Louise Austin and I ran last Wednesday with a wonderful group of inspiring and interesting women.

We explored many aspects of the unconscious processes that emerge in groups and considered questions such as:
* What happens in groups on a deeper level?
* How to uncover the unconscious dynamics in a safe and non-threatening way
* What roles do we take on or have thrust upon us when participating or facilitating groups?
* How do we avoid our groups becoming stuck in 'role locks' or co-creating scapegoats and being scapegoated?

I'd be spoiling it if I went into too much detail here, suffice to say we worked with toys, natural objects and paints! We did several experiential exercises investigating our own and others' patterns and the impact these can have on group effectiveness. Our day was underpinned by our belief that skilful attention to the emotional well-being of the group is the cornerstone of effective group facilitation.

I would like to add that the learning and pleasure that Louise and I received was a direct result of the generous courage and curiosity of our participants, for which I thank you!

We're running our next two Master Classes on 7th October and 4th November in West London when we'll be working with various creative media, tools and activities to develop participants' skills in applying these resources in groups where they are facilitating change or team building or visioning processes.
