After a long silence.....

It's been a while since I last 'blogged'. It's been a stressful few months with serious family health problems and the EMCC individual accreditation process took a long time to complete.

I'm pleased to report that the family health problems seem to be receding - at least the patient is slowly recovering. Likewise, after the initial submission and subsequent provision of additional information in the form of two case studies, I've now received the EMCC European Individual Accreditation - Master Practitioner accreditation. Phew! So, now I can get on with other things.

I'm discussing this period because the experience has given me some added awareness and appreciation for when clients say they are 'stressed', 'exhausted', even 'burnt out'. I found myself submerged by the melee of events and I seemed to have little headspace or energy for much else. It's been a salutary lesson in taking care of myself, and not trying to do too much. I'm pleased to report that with the help of an energetic buddy, I've managed to get to the gym regularly which has meant that at least the body is in reasonable shape! I've trusted that through this process, my mind and spirit is slowly regaining some form. Again, after what feels like a long time, I'm now able to think, engage with real presence with clients and colleagues, read and retain, and initiate some new ideas. More of this shortly.

I'll mention here too my DProf research project in Coaching Supervision. This has been completely suspended during the past few months and I'm now looking forward to exploring my ideas. The initial task pre-Christmas last year entailed a review of my whole professional career and how it has led me to this point. This was a fascinating experience and tremendously affirming. By identifying key milestones in terms of learning, experience, mistakes, achievements helped me acknowledge that what I now bring to my work has solid foundations. Equally, when gathering all the bits together, there are patterns and connections which were not always evident at the time.
